BLEH. Not a fan of this one. Not sure if it’s just “not for me” or more than that. To start with, there are so many people to keep track of that it’s super hard to follow. Sometimes you get as few as a couple of sentences before you swap to the next person. It’s rather difficult to feel a connection to anyone flipping back and forth.
The other part is just...the weird “moral of the story” bits inserted throughout the book.
“For the perpetrator, rape lasts just a matter of minutes. For the victim, it never stops.”
Gee, thanks for that earth shattering bit of wisdom, Backman. I’m sure no one has ever considered that before *eyeroll*. Just one of several examples.
Lots of people loved this, I was not one of them.
