The Bear-Shaped Hole
by John Dougherty
emotional
slow-paced
I am pretty sure this is by the same author and illustrator of a Hare Shaped Hole. These books are about grief. In this book instead of a friend, it is an adult figure who has told a child that they are ill and will be passing on. It’s about living every day and appreciating the time that you have left. These books are incredibly well done. The illustrations are perfect. They remind someone of life and love. I just wish they made a better cover. The cover on these books suck both this book and a hair shaped hole. The cover makes sense but only after you’ve read the book.
