Jamal Campbell is too damn good. His art is just top tier.
I really enjoyed this story, especially as someone who has never read Green Lantern and only knows the bare basics of the Lantern mythos. This is essentially a standalone DC series that anyone can read. N.K. Jemisin weaves in so many contemporary themes in a way that made them feel natural to Jo as a character, and not using the comic as a soapbox.
My only real issue with this was the pacing. Having all 12 issues combined in one trade paperback makes this a hefty read and exposes some of the issues in the storytelling and pacing; I don't think I'd have been as bored in some areas or reeling so hard in others if I'd been reading this issue to issue.
Overall, a really fun story with incredible art.
