Perfect book for Halloween night. No it isn't super scary, but it is creepy, and I love the Japanese ghosts and spirits it delves in to. Okiku was a great character, and I loved seeing everything from her eyes. It added an interesting depth I wasn't expecting. I was worried it would be a Ring rip off and just come off cheesy, but honestly, it well beyond that concept and actually was better in my opinion. I look forward to checking out the sequel soon. 4 out of 5
