I absolutely adored Arthur and Derrick, two very likeable characters that were different from each other but perfect for each other. Arthur is an artistic music loving nerd who composes music for a living whilst Derrick is a pretty intense and serious career Navy submariner who’s most recent boyfriend cheated on him.
Circumstances lead to Arthur and Derrick being fake boyfriends and so begins a beautiful drama free romance that has minimal angst, major chemistry and enough steamy times to turn up the heat. It’s a fantastic mix of tropes - opposites attract, fake boyfriend, best friends brother and only one bed!
It all came together in a well balanced perfectly paced plot that was engaging, enjoyable and had me smiling, laughing and also catching some feels. I’m definitely looking forward to Calder’s story, the next in the Shore Leave series.
