At a loss for words. This book will brake your heart as it did mine.

I like to read historical fiction and have read quite a few of them. Most of those were about WW2. Very western/Europe focused. You hear about Palestine and Israel and the “conflict” on the news of course, but I have to admit my knowledge was and still is shamefully lacking.

This is much more painful to read because if you read something about WW2 and its atrocities, it’s horrible and sad but it’s also over now. This is not the case for this story. This story is still ongoing and the reality of that and the generational grief and trauma it has caused are so unfathomably tragic it’s difficult to express it into words.
