I wanted a cozy mystery series I could really dig into. I wanted to give this series a chance but I think this is going to be it. The casual fatphobic weight obsession of the authour went full on into nonsense land in this book.

The lead character is obsessed with her weight and the weights of other people, fine, that's been kind of silly from the beginning of the series but heck, this one went beyond average middle-age weight obsession and just into full on disgust.

I love the idea of mysteries set in a small town, with bookstores and a woman protagonist but this series is not it.
