This was a really interesting read. Are You Listening? is a roadtrip book centered on two acquaintances who encounter a cat and some unexpected events in West Texas. You slowly learn more about the characters as they get to know each other. But more than that, this book says a lot about grief and trauma in subtle ways. This book is beautiful in how it is slightly unsettling, slightly unresolved. It is a piece of the story - a piece of their stories. As much as I wish I could know more, that feels intentional and it works very well. I definitely recommend this book.
