Boyfriend Material
by Ilsa Madden-Mills
So, it has been a while since the first book, Boyfriend Bargain, came out, actually it was 2019, wow! So I guess it’s no wonder that I had a little bit of trouble exactly remembering the characters from the first book. Although that’s okay, because this is a totally separate story. I loved this one though, as much as I loved the other.
Both characters were perfect for me. They had the right amount of realistic interest in each other, along with the right amount of background and personal issues that made an easy relationship between them not the easy road to take. I like the way that the author had Julia dealing with her mother and other things in her life. The way the stripping was a part of the story, real, even if she knew she didn’t want to keep doing it. And then there was Eric. I feel like he definitely was holding onto his guilt too hard about his brother’s death and replacing him for the things his father wanted him to do. Again, the author made it fit into the story perfectly.
I liked how when push came to shove, both characters went out of their way to try to do what was right, and to protect others. I also loved all the side characters and friends. And the bad guys in this story were definitely the bad guys. There was one guy I almost felt a little inkling of possibility that he might not be horrible, only to have him turn out to blow that chance out of the water and fall in with the rest of his frat brothers.
There was so much emotion, the sexy times were hot, and the whole story was just perfection. Another wonderful story by Ilsa Madden-Mills. I always know I’m in for a perfect tale when I pick up her books.
