This book has some major flaws, but for some reason its just so charming that I enjoy it more than it probably deserves lol. I absolutely adore Ciri and Yennefer, and I really like Geralt, Dandelion and Triss as well even though they have some issues….misogynistic issues. There are a lot of powerful female characters and great conversation between Ciri and them about periods, sex ect and then the book goes and has Geralt have sex with a 17 year old……it’s frustrating. The writing style/prose is good, but the plot and pacing is pretty all over the place, and some povs I just don’t care for. It’s hard to care about the politics when you’re being shown conversations between 6 characters you’ve never seen before lol. Overall though, the book mostly follows Geralt, Ciri and Dandelion, whose POVs I really enjoy. The humor and characters in this series really works for me. I love how Ciri has such a big personality. For anyone interested, it seems like this series is less about Geralt and more about Ciri’s coming of age, which I am good with. This novel is very engaging and other than a few pov changes where I lost interest, I really had a great time with it.
