This book is very quickly becoming one that I am encouraging everybody (even random people) to read. I laughed, I was spooked, I was relieved.
The characters are likable. The plot is intense, but not in a way that is confusing. More so in a way that goes from “what a fun gothic tale” to “omg, please don’t go to the basement”.
I picked this book up on a whim, laughed from the first chapter, and had no other expectations. It isn’t very long, but this story packs a punch.
