## Tropes
- Found Family

- Magic
## 📖 My Thoughts
5 sentences
I wish I could collect stardust. I found this story endearing, focusing on filial love among a found family. The story is an analogy on how we're supposed to teach young children to be good adults by instilling resilience, instead of just hiding them away so nothing can hurt them. The book felt like a warm sweater on a cold morning. I kept imagining the spells like glitter in the air.
## ⚠️ Triggers
Death
Curse words
Generational trauma
## BIPOC and LGBTQ+ Representation
The MFC and her three young charges are not only witches but also non-white. Not at the center of the story, it focuses instead on prejudice against people who are different. There are main characters from the LGBTQ+ community whom add a layer of color to this wonderfully written book.
## 🌶️ Spice
Barely there. Doesn't even qualify. It's just a natural progression of the story.
## 📝 Special Notes
The UK cover is so cute. I personally did not like The House in the Cerulean Sea, yet, this has similar elements, if you liked that one, you'll like this one as well.
