What a brilliant start to a new series featuring two of my favourite men. With their marriage still solid as a rock and work going great for them both, Sawyer and Royce make the decision to embrace fatherhood with the help of best friend and surrogate Kelsey. Of course a new case develops for Royce to investigate involving an unethical fertility doctor so it hits very close to home for them. It niggles at Sawyer for a bit but his fears are allayed and it’s yet another example of the compassionate and sensitive manner in which the author tackles the subject of assisted fertility and surrogacy. The case itself doesn’t take long for Royce to tie up so he and Sawyer manage to get plenty of steamy and sweet moments together. 

I did have some feels reading this book. I laughed out loud at the very first line, felt my face smiling so big as Royce and his Dad continued slow positive steps in healing their relationship, chortled at Sawyer’s introduction to Pilates and laughed out loud once again at the carpet cleaning antics. 

I can’t wait for more as this was a very enjoyable and engaging beginning in what will no doubt be a wonderful series.
