The Fourth Time Charm by Maya Hughes
4.0

I have loved all of this series, and this book was no different. It was nice to finally get Marisa and LJ’s story. We’d heard a lot about Marisa in the past books, at least a lot about her cooking. So it was kind of fun when she actually tried to do some of that during this book. LJ and Marisa were fun friends, and I could see why they both were afraid to cross the line because you don’t want to lose a friend like that. Reading this one also made me want to go back and read the other books to fit in all the little puzzle pieces from those books with the open spots we had in this book that we’d actually already filled in.

However, Marisa totally irritated me with some of the issues she had, although it was easy to see why she had them. I just thought she was ridiculous in not giving a chance to LJ when he was showing how much he wanted it. But then he also should have told her about her dad earlier, even if his reasoning did make a tiny bit of sense for him.

In the end things were wrapped up in a way that worked perfectly, and I was glad to see them figure out what they needed to. I did also think Marisa should have maybe given her dad a little bit more of a chance, I mean, yeah her mother bad-mouthed him a lot, but look at how her mother behaved? Anyway, a great story to fit into this series. I think there is at least one more character we need to know about, Keyton? Do we know his story yet?
