I had high hopes for this book as it was recommended on tik tok as a must read for intersectional therapists. some of the stories read as trauma p*rn and used very outdated language (especially how the author handled the transgender partner of one of her clients) but it was interesting how the author articulated their countertransference and how the field has changed over the years in regards to cultural considerations
also provides a lot of areas to reflect on ethics as a mental health provider
