We've got an HBO take on Lovecraft Country coming in a few months. If you haven't read the book, I highly recommend it. In either case, this has a similar mix of history, horror and the juxtaposition of supernatural evil to the mimetic evil of racism.

Newspaper clippings frame the story, the panels are laid out like ley lines and magenta smoke has rarely been more sinister. This is a visually rich story that stitches together ancient Greek myths and systematic violence against young black men and infuses the entire thing with an epic battle between the darkness and light.
