ellemaddy 's review for:
The Only Good Indians
by Stephen Graham Jones
Reading this book is like getting lulled to sleep and later being jolted awake by some m u r d e r.
I had to snore through some part of it, all those things about basketball and fixing a light fixture? Yeah, not a fan. But I can appreciate good writing and a good book
regardless of how I feel about all the sport talks, okay. A lot of other parts made me gasp and bang my fist on the table like there is NO way this is happening?? It is fucking happening!!!
So it’s like getting whiplash because at one moment i’m just drifting apart from the story and then suddenly i’m being pulled back in because FINALLY something interesting is happening, and it’s some ... stab-kill-blood-everywhere time?! It’s unsettling. It goes from 0 to 100 real fuckin quick, my dude.
