I found this book so fascinating. The philosophical ideas behind it and the moral question was so interesting to me.

My only issue was it was overly flowery. There were entire chapters that seemed to do little other than allow Wilde to show his talent. I found myself skimming through much of the middle section (many of these being chapters added later on) that seemed out of place and unneeded. But then, I don't usually get on with the Victorian style of writing so it isn't that much of a surprise.

Like I said, the premise is such an interesting one and with the knowledge of Wilde's homosexuality it adds yet another layer to this book. I definitely recommend it to fans and students of literature, but it certainly is not for the faint of heart. I wouldn't be recommending it for beach side reading...
