Quite honestly, an absolute delight of a middle grade graphic novel. Not only does it have a great diverse cast, but the story is just so wholesome. A girl loses her parents, and goes to live with her ecletic aunt, who is cursed to be a monster from an adventure gone wrong years ago. Now, they're all going on a new adventure to stop it from happening to someone else.
The cast of characters in this is just a fun bunch of people (and a person cursed as a monster). I think middle grade readers are going to eat this up, especially with the adventuring point of view. It's just such a fun story all around.
The main reason this isn't getting 5 stars is the plot gets a little chaotic by the end of the book. Some of the pieces are a bit difficult to follow, but that didn't take away too much from my enjoyment. Such an overall fantastic book!
