Written In The Stars by Alexandria Bellefleur
4.0

Alright, hear me out. Written in the Stars is just near perfect (4,5 stars rounded down)

Enemies to lovers and fake dating happen to be two of my absolute favorite tropes ever. Honestly, nothing can beat the tropes when done right. HOWEVER, the two tropes combined are MAGICAL.

Elle has the sun shining out of her ass, so to speak. She is the definition of a golden retriever character. She is energetic, bubbly, extroverted, and just incredibly open as a person. Elle wants to find her soulmate and is open and honest about it when Darcy suggests the fake dating solution to their problem. Elle knows what she wants and deserves, and I am so happy to see her follow through with it and not settle for anything less.

Darcy is realistic, problematically so. Everything is about numbers, probabilities, and statistics. Darcy can't lead with her heart even when she desperately tries to. After learning about her romantic history and her relationship with her mother, I understood why she is so protective of herself.

The two of them together are bliss. The sun revolves around Darcy and Elle. I love how their relationship is fleshed out, and we can clearly see the progress from enemies to friends and then to lovers. There isn't an ounce of rush in this story, it is not an instant love situation, and I love that.

I wanted this book to be a five-star rating, but there are a few things that fell flat for me.
First, why doesn't anyone have a healthy relationship with their family? Elle's family undermines her and constantly belittles her for following her dreams, even when they lead to a significant partnership. Then, when Elle finally is full of their behavior, it takes them weeks to reach out and apologize to her! Darcy's mum is no better. Alright, she obviously has some issues from her past relationships but Jesus Christ!
Also, Darcy's brother needs to take his ass out of his sister's business! He kept meddling right to the end, and it's no wonder why Darcy lied to him about the blind date!

That being said, I give this book 4,5 stars. Highly recommended, and I am so excited to read Written in the Stars books #2 and #3!
