Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
by J.K. Rowling
Rowling is still the undisputed king of endings. The last 20% of every Harry Potter book is literal fire andoor I cannot deal.
Harry continues to be an amazing protagonist in this book. Seeing his anger and frustration and fear play out in this book was stellar. Harry is definetly not perfect in this book, his temper is short and he lashed out at the people trying to help him but I always knew where he was coming from. Even when I felt he was acting irrationally I never felt annoyed at him. I continue to want to see Harry grow into the person we know he can be.
Can we just talk about the level of sass in this book because damn people were putting others in their place. Ginny was just amazing in this book, she took shit from no one and . She's come a log way from being that shy girl who adored Harry and I'm glad for it because she is now my new favorite character. But the best scenes were when Phineas Nigellus was so done with Harry's angsty teenage bullshit.
Again the romantic subplot was very weak in this story. I couldn't find it in my heart to give any shits about weather Cho and Harry would get together, especially since that subplot was surround by much more interesting subplots.
Delores Umbridge was a vile and easily hatable woman but I don't think I hate her as much as others do. I feel like with characters like the Dursleys, Malfoys, Snape, and Cornelius Fudge she was just the regular amount of hatable. But I would still bang her head in with a croquet mallet if given the opportunity.
Rowling was too real with her descriptions of being a fifth year. I had way too many flashbacks to my IGCSE year for comfort.
Again another solid Harry Potter book I'm starting to think Rowling can do not wrong. I hope Half-Blood Prince is aso good as the rest because it is the only one I know almost nothing about
