The Kite Runner
by Khaled Hosseini
Hassan will forever hold a space in my heart. Hosseini was able to write about the horrors of the war in the middle east while also being able to show class division and privilege and how that transitions into war. The main characters are so heartbreaking, their stories are so heartbreaking, and again this is another book where I couldn't find myself agreeing with Amir, until a little later in the book. This book is absolutely heartbreaking and because we read this in high school the discussions were immaculate!! Everyone's opinion on the topic of redemption was eye opening.
