I don’t remember the last time I felt as validated by a book as I did when The War confirmed all the queerness I had been suspecting. I’m tempted to say that each Blackwater book is better than the last, but I suspect that has more to do with getting to know the characters than with any variation in quality from volume to volume. That said, some of my favorite moments in the series so far occur in this installment of the saga, and I love how the characters and their relationships have changed.
