Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi
5.0

"We are all children of blood and bone. All instruments of vengeance and virtue."

This is a game changer. This story and the upcoming film will spark conversation and debate in our nation. People will lay awake at night replaying the pain, joy, fear, disappointment, love, loyalty and anger this story encompasses.

I'm not sure how I can love something as much as I loved this yet be speechless as to how to describe it. Maya Angelou said "People may not remember exactly what you did, or what you said, but they will always remember how you made them feel". This truth could not apply more than it does in this moment for me.

Zélie Adebola and Princess Amari are the heroines that every little brown girl needs. Both represent a different type of strength and fierceness driven by kind hearts, love, loyalty, and a need to do the right things.

This book is a journey created by the gods themselves forced by the hands of evil, prejudice, and ignorance.

It's a must read for all. I can't wait for the film as I know it will be a cinematic wonder if crews are able to bring the landscape, costumes, and overall emotion to life.

Onward to Book 2!!!
