We Two: Victoria and Albert: Rulers, Partners, Rivals
by Gillian Gill
informative
slow-paced
Most people that are into history or are European are aware of Victoria and Albert's love story and marriage. Victoria is often spoken about for several reasons: her reign, the Victorian Era, the industrial transformation of Britain, her children, etc. Albert is discussed far less frequently, other than about how devastating it was for her when he died. He was also a very dynamic character, and their personal and political relationship and differences were really interesting to learn about in this book.
As far as the writing in the book, it was very well written. The research was outstanding. This book was not dry or boring in any way, which is always a concern with historical books for me, even though I am a historian. I thought the information was transmitted in a way that was easy to read, follow, understand, and retain. If you are interested in European History or Royals, I would suggest this one.
