For a slim novel, the author was able to include a lot of atmospheric description in it to build tension!  Unfortunately, because this novel is so short, this tension built to a finale that was underwhelming.  The big reveal and aftermath seemed too rushed after all the building that had come before it.  I would be curious to read more from this author and see if their future books are better paced.
