Picked this up because of Stjepan’s artwork. I had fun with this one! The premise is a simple good vs evil conflict, but the good guys are ghosts and the bad guys are necromancers who are really into Lovecraft.

I’ve seen people struggle with the dialogue, describing it as “Whedon-esque” minus all the sexism. I didn’t find it out of place, given how common it is as a defense mechanism in stressful situations, but I think if everyone’s defense mechanism is humor, everyone starts to feel and sound the same. I think all these problems could have addressed/fixed in a second volume, but poor sales got this series cancelled so this book is all we’re getting. Still the artwork is *fantastic* so if you’d like to see Stjepan draw some awesome, gorey, Doom monsters give this book a shot!
