re-read April 30th, 2020:
honestly I don't think I fully appreciated this the first time I read it. I was just obsessed with the characters, and liked the ending, so I gave it 5 stars. But I think I completely overlooked the nuanced character development that goes on throughout this series. By the end, all the characters have changed in some way, some for better, some for worse, but they all end up with fully developed stories, personalities, and complexities, and I don't think we quite get that a lot in YA Fae stories.
Shoutout to Holly Black for doing god's good work!
