Beyond the Black Door
by A.M. Strickland
What I love about A.M. Strickland's books has to be the character diversity rep. It's so nice to see LGBTQ+ inclusion that doesn't feel forced, and this book had many amazing characters. I loved the dark fantasy/morally grey aspect as well, the idea of soul walking sounded so unique to me. However, the court/political intrigue didn't deliver like I had hoped and the plot fell a bit short for me. I also didn't care for the world building, the details made it sound beautiful...but not quite "real" if that makes sense. 3-3.5 ⭐.
