Till Death by Miranda Lyn
3.5

This easily could have been a 5-star book, but it had some issues. It was way too long and dragged at some parts of the story. The slow-burn romance was too slow. They both obviously had feelings for each other, but it was dragged out to the point where the tension became annoying. The book was over 19 hours long, and they didn’t acknowledge their feelings until after 14 hours. The world-building was excessive, and it was hard to follow at times. Something else was thrown at you when you thought everything was figured out. Some aspects could have easily been pushed to book 2. I also think it would have been better as a dual POV. I would have loved to have Orin’s POV throughout the story. Despite all that, I enjoyed this. Dey was a great FMC; she was strong and didn’t take shit from anyone but was also caring. Orin was a good MMC; he hit all the points. He was sexy, loyal, a musician, protective, and you can’t forget his abs of steel. I loved the rest of the characters. They each added perfectly to the story. I enjoyed the friendship and trust that blossomed within the misfit family. It was funny at times; I found myself smiling at my desk while working. Even though the world-building was excessive, I liked the world itself. It had magic and a dark burlesque show. There were some twists and turns, and I can’t forget the adorable dog Boo.
