This hurt my heart, and not in the good way. I had actual empathic chest-pain over how mean one MC was to the other, and that was unresolved for me by the end still. Other reviewers refer to "disaster characters" and yes, that's the exactly the problem. For the sake of the plot, Bonny and Belle are spoiled, bullying brats. Ideally, they'd do some serious growing up before going anywhere near any romantic relationships.

The banter starts off marvellously, and I thought this would be a 5 star read -- Alexis Hall really can write! -- but no, there was too much hurt and no meaningful comfort. I can only read the ending as HFN because I dearly hope
