brgntteva 's review for:
Meridiano di sangue
by Cormac McCarthy
blood meridian has only one interesting characteristic and it's the Judge. So much so, that the book takes pace and appeal only when he enters the scene for more than a few sentences. If you take the Judge out of it, nothing remains except a bunch of people who wonders through the desert killing torturing and drinking their minds out. We might talk endlessly about the round hairless white hyper educated, supernaturally knowledgeable, incredibly smart and manipulative and unfathomable Judge. Demiurge, devil, god in a non Christian way. But I leave it to my fellows, who say it in a way I will never.
.
The writing style? An extremely verbose, extremely detailed one, so much so that I had to switch to the Italian version cause I thought it might have been easier in my mother tongue (and the answer is no).
.
Why it's considered a masterpiece is still unfathomable to me
