Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo

Oh boy! This book... it’s a lot! I’m not sure I would class this as fantasy, I’d class it more as paranormal, but really it’s not a big deal.
At first, I had a difficult time with this book. I didn’t quite get that the timeline flashed back or where the story started.
I also didn’t understand the role of Lethe and what the heck Alex was doing.
But around chapter 5, things stated to fall into place.
There’s a lot of moving parts with this book. I also found that there was a bit of assumed knowledge about Yale and it’s societies, which I don’t have.
But I did like this book. It’s not my usual read, but I did enjoy it. I also liked the touches of humour here, as well as Il Bastone almost being a character itself.
There’s a lot going on with this book, but if you can stick with it, if paranormal occurrences are your thing, then this will be right up your alley!
