An important book to show how fractious the lives of those in Mali were (and still are) and how the interests and power grabs by the few have serious implications for everyone living there. I felt the writing jumped around a lot and some important details were glossed over while other bits were given more attention than necessary. There was also some spots of serious name dropping that just did not need to be there.
