lashette 's review for:
The Emperor's Soul
by Brandon Sanderson
This was good. I was left off feeling wow. The idea of the stamps and a person's soul is so cool. Plus, how Shai and other Forger's perceive people and their motivations is very relatable. This is how I see people and actions. We are puzzles. Also, I like how values and what people value is a major underlying topic. What makes one thing more valuable than the other. What adds value and what takes it away. Manipulation was another focus here too. Lastly, the connection to Elantris and the Aon is there too subtly, which I like.
On a related note I read I this arcanum unbounded. So the Selfish system essay was also interesting. I'll be reading all the short stories slowly over the year so I'll do separate reviews as I get to them and then one for the bind up later.
