A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin
4.0

There's a lot I can say about this book, but what I loved the most about it was the characters. They are so complex. Each and every chapter added depth to the characters. My opinions on them were constantly changing; I don't think I've ever changed favorite characters as often as I did reading this book. My feminist side also couldn't help but love that there were quite a few strong female characters, especially in a world with such a patriarchal culture.

I also love when authors are able to not only create really fleshed out worlds, but also come up with a rich history to go with it. After reading A Game of Thrones, I couldn't help but really look forward to getting to the rest of the series and learning more about this world and its past.

There's a lot more I could say, but I'll just leave it at that for now. Overall, I definitely enjoyed this book; it took me over a week to read, though it didn't feel that way at all. Time flew while reading it just because it was so easy to get into. I can't wait to get to the rest of the series!
