Amy & Roger's Epic Detour
by Morgan Matson
*3.5
Morgan Matson doesn’t disappoint...again! I love Morgan Matson’s writing style. It’s so easy to get into, and tbh it got me out of a bad reading slump. All I wanted to do was read, read read this book.
But I will say, this book did feel like Second Chance Summer But with a road trip and family drama instead of friend drama. Not to say I didn’t like it, but I didn’t love it as much as second Chance Summer.
The illustrations in this book were so much fun and so adorable, and I felt like they added 10 times more to the story. I will say I didn’t connect much with this characters as I thought I would, and I thought it would have been fine if Amy and Roger stayed as friends instead of ended up together.
I also loved the themes this book portrayed including, getting over grief and other topics similar.
Thats about all I have to say, but I enjoyed this book.
