I have never been much for mythology but making Patroclus the central figure was compelling from the get go. Rooting the whole thing in emotion and humanity made the story fresh and new. It was really well written, really sad, and lovely to read. Most of this was new to me, I didn’t know most of what happens. I’m not sure a story where these men don’t love each other is as interesting and relevant to me.

Definitely makes me want to read Circe right away. Loved this immensely.
