Beasts of Extraordinary Circumstance
by Ruth Emmie Lang
I wouldn't call this a magical read, or even a particularly fantastic one. It was more cozy than anything else. While this story is one I've definitely heard before, a marvelous man with powers that changes the lives of those around him, it still managed to interest me.
It didn't have a grand plot or tried to say anything particularly profound. It has a simple story and just ran with it. I wish Weylyn was a bit more interesting with his characterization. He's kind of like the archetype of this character and nothing more: kind, polite, but slightly afraid of the power within him. He didn't anger me or anything. I wish wish he stood out a bit more.
If you're looking for something simple and harmless to read, this would be a good book to turn to.
