I enjoyed the groundhogs day plot mechanic and I liked Jack's nerdiness and quirkiness. I also appreciated the medical issue that they delve into (I won't be more specific bc spoilers!). However, I did take issue with how the two main female characters were written and especially with how they were treated throughout the book. Kate felt like the perfect combination of "damsel in distress" and "manic pixie dream girl". Jillian had some back story, but was still lacking as a character. Towards the end, there was a big problem with Jillian not having agency over her story that I found extremely off-putting.
