I know a book is good when I stay up until 5am to finish it (oops). There were many times I looked at how far I was and wondered how much more of the book could possibly be written, and then why all these new branches kept being introduced, but it all paid off beautifully. I love the Jewish thread of the story and how many little winks at other fairytales were included. I even was glad, however small and not super positively portrayed, that queerness exists in this world. This book kept surprising me, and it is a rich and layered tale.
