I was not expecting to LOVE this book?! I think I've finally gotten used to Cora Reilly's writing style. My main critique with the first 2 books is that the novels are so short that the relationship development tends to be quite rushed. Going into Bound by Hatred I expected a short romance novel that would just be fun and quick and entertaining, and that definitely improved my enjoyment of the book.

From the very beginning, I loved Matteo. He's lowkey psychotic, and I'm LIVING FOR IT. He was such a fun character to read about. I don't know what this says about me... but I love how *insane* he is. He would literally kill someone in the most brutal way, and they would be bleeding out in front of him, and he'd be cracking jokes as if it's the most normal thing in the world. Like why tf is that hot? He gives me major Joker vibes, and I'm honestly obsessed. Cancel me.

Also, Gianna... Gianna was definitely my favourite female character of the series, and I was so excited to finally see things from her perspective. I love how she's so unapologetic about doing everything she can to live the life that she wants. She really said fuck toxic masculinity and patriarchy. She reminds me of Nesta from ACOTAR, in the way that she is very upfront, protective and blunt. Like this book is literally just Nesta and the Joker getting together, and it's fucking everything.
