The Love Hypothesis
by Ali Hazelwood
I enjoyed this book overall. I have found out in the last year that I do like fake dating and I think it handled it well, especially since it was obvious to everyone that their meet cute was actually in the prologue and not the surprise kiss. I took Adam's attraction to her as a crush and not stalking like some people felt. Which isn't to say that differing opinions are wrong; I just didn't see it that way. I also never really got the asshole aspect of him; he just had high expectations of students that presented to him and, while the delivery wasn't always the best, it doesn't mean that the information he gave was incorrect.
Don't get me wrong I get the concerns others have. But, IMHO there are far more problematic romances (and Star Wars couples, cannon or fanfiction) out there. It was a cute sweet book and while I somewhat agree on the...unique...aspect of the sex scene(s) that were on the page (although let's be honest stuff like that does happen) I still really enjoyed it. I would re-read it again and likely will since ultimately I loved the banter and the back and forth.
That said there is a TW/CW for sexual assault/harassment that happens on the page and is referenced to at least two other times after the fact. The specific pages are 228 - 232, 311, and 325. The author handled the writing of the original one really well but it's still there. So, be mindful.
As with all romances, I say let yourself be the judge of whether you like it or not. It's all well and good to listen to advice, reviews, and other's opinions. But ultimately it comes down to what you like and prefer.
