OK wow. This book was a wild ride from start to finish. After finishing Archenemies a few months ago, I was really skeptical about Supernova because I thought it left too many reveals for the final book and that it wouldn’t do them justice. However, I was delightfully surprised by the pacing of this book and it kept me guessing for most of the book!

Firstly, the reveal of Nova’s identity happened earlier than I anticipated, and I was super hyped about where it went from there. I thought everything involving her secrets and identity was handled really well. Adrian’s was a little less dramatic and happened way later than I thought but it was still effective. Again, I was really happy with the pacing and none of it felt slow or long at all. There were a bunch of twists that I didn’t see coming, and I felt like I got satisfying answers to a lot of the series’ questions.

There were a couple things I was disappointed with— I really adored the Anarchists and their little family and was rooting for them for most of the book (which, like, I feel justified in because some of the stuff the Renegades and the Council did in this book were NOT GREAT) but I was sad to see some of their endgames. Phobia and the Puppeteer were two of my favorites that I hoped were get a bigger role but I was a bit let down by both. I was completely taken aback by Ace’s final reveal, but it made me sad. The very end seemed a tad bit rushed and I still don’t fully understand all of what happened (though I DID suspect the very last twist!!!) in the epilogue.

Despite these issues, I was still fairly happy with the ending. I was really pleased with Narcissa’s reappearance and role in this book, though I wish we’d seen a bit more of her at the end. I was never suuuuuper into Nova/Adrian but they’re cute and it was a good (if a bit cheesy) book for them. I was pleased with Nova’s overall journey throughout the series! I prefer The Lunar Chronicles but I will definitely continue to pick up Meyer’s books in the future!
