This short story was a delightful dive into the lives of characters I already love.
Kai’s journey—his rigorous training and the trauma inflicted by his father—made me care for him deeply. His resilience is remarkable, and I found myself rooting for him even more.
Adena’s lively and infectious spirit was equally touching, though it left me with a bittersweet ache, knowing what her future holds. Seeing her shine in this story was both heartwarming and heartbreaking.
And can we talk about the revelation that Kai and Paedyn met before?

I practically squealed with excitement. Moments like this remind me how beautifully interconnected these characters’ stories are and leave me excited for the 3rd and final book because I know there are more connections to be made!
Festive Plagues is a meaningful addition to Lauren Roberts' universe. It adds depth to characters I already cherish and leaves me eager for more glimpses into their lives.
Personal Tip: To fully appreciate Festive Plagues, I'd say read it after Powerless and Powerful, as this allows the lore of the trilogy and character connections to resonate more deeply
