The Truth of Masks by Oscar Wilde
3.0
informative slow-paced

it’s basically an essay or maybe even an article about the wardrobe choices in especially shakespearean theatre productions.

i think Wilde more or less wanted to say that creativity should be allowed and executed freely  in wardrobe changes and choices since the fashion changes and while Shakespeare himself had a specific view on how everyone should look -it was a very of the Shakespearean time fashion.

at least that’s what i took away from it.

was it worth a read?

depends on what you are going for in this read.
are you interested in options on theatrical wardrobe and how  in Shakespeare plays that used? perfect! wonderful read for you!

for anyone else not interested in that?
could range in reading experience from utterly boring to just happy to finally be done with it.
