Loki: Where Mischief Lies by Mackenzi Lee
3.5

More of 3.5 but I felt like rounding up. All in all, this is a fun read and, if you're a Loki fan, you're going to love this book. I'm glad that Mackenzi reinforced Loki's pansexuality and genderfluidity here in a natural, casual, and non-exaggerated way. It never felt pandering, but natural for the character.

I think the only gripe I have around it is that I wish there was more time devoted to character dynamics. I kind of wanted to see Loki interact more with 1800s London and the people he meets there, as I felt like a lot of Part One of the book could have been cut or edited down.

Honestly, how much more would it have stung if Loki had actually had a deeper relationship with Theo before betraying him in the end? If he allowed himself to get closer, and then question his sentimentality, leading him to leave Theo behind? That would have HURTED and I think would have struck the blow a little more effectively. I can't believe I'm saying I wanted this to hurt more.
