The Omnivore's Dilemma: A Natural History of Four Meals
by Michael Pollan
This is one of those books that I'd been meaning to get to for a while, and it definitely lived up to my expectations. Pollan explores our food systems through four perspectives: industrial farming, large-scale organic farming, small-scale local farming, and foraging. Through interviews and research of his own, he dives into why we eat the things we do and how they end up on our plates.
My one wish is that Pollan had a bit more of a class analysis about who can afford organic, which would make some of the more "foodie" parts a little easier to digest (ha!) Definitely a recommended read though.
