This book told a really good story Chiyo/Sayuri's life. It was beautifully written, with surprises at every turn.
Unfortunately, the ending was kind of predictable. Obviously this wasn't the author's fault, since you can't change the past, but if you're into a really good ending, this may no be the best candidate.
that being said, it is a wonderful book, and I highly recommend it!
