Fuse by E.L. Todd
3.0

Do you like dragons? A likable protagonist? A great love story in the making?
Well, this book has... one of those! (And it's the dragons, which is what one of the stars is for. Dragons rock.)
Fuse is about a girl who is unlike other girls (and if you forget, don't worry, you'll be reminded every five pages that she can shoot a bow and also hates the patriarchy because that isn't what any other woman can do). She is on the run and comes across a dragon and helps him out by cleaning his wings. It's cool, the bond is cool, I enjoyed that. And then around I would say 40% there gets to be this "romance" with a guy who keeps on offering to show her how to, for lack of a better term, do the one person slip n' slide, the horizontal tango. I think the author was trying to go for witty banter, but it just came off as awkward attempts at trying to be flirty. The book ends where the whole journey was kind of supposed to start (spoiler:
Spoiler they kept talking about trying to find the elves through the whole book and the book ends with finding the elves, and also, Cora ONLY just now thought about freeing the dragons? and no one else did? at any point in the past like... 4,000 years or so???
Spoiler)
All I'm saying is it was a good idea, okay execution, and poor writing of the main character who is entirely unlikable. So, two stars (plus one for the dragons).
